About the Role
As an integral member of Conscious Fashion Collective and Conscious Life & Style, the Social Media Manager will be responsible for supporting the development of our social media strategies and creating content to continually grow our presence and sustain engagement on various platforms.
The ideal candidate for this role will have experience in social media strategy and content creation, including graphic design and video editing. Candidates must also have strong knowledge of sustainable fashion and be excited to continually learn about relevant topics.
This role will be responsible for managing the Conscious Fashion Collective platforms and will play a key role in supporting the Conscious Life & Style platforms as well. Social platforms may include but are not limited to Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook.
The Social Media Manager will be working directly with Conscious Life & Style founder Elizabeth and may occasionally interact with other team members when relevant.
This is a part-time remote independent contractor role with flexible working hours and the ability to work from anywhere. That said, the Social Media Manager would need to be available to post content on social platforms within our key posting time window (9am to 1pm Eastern Standard Time).
This role will require a time commitment of 8 – 10 hours per week. There is potential for this role to expand as our business grows.
What This Role Will Involve:
Develop strategies for social media platforms that are aligned with our overall goals
Brainstorm content ideas and creative approaches to engaging with our audience
Create several pieces of written and visual (imagery and video) content each week that will be published across social media platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and beyond
Monitor social media platforms (checking for tags, shares, and comments)
Evaluate social media analytics to strategically improve engagement and growth
Stay up to date on the latest sustainable fashion industry news, campaigns, and relevant social media updates/trends
What Would Help You Excel In This Role:
You are passionate about making the fashion industry better and care deeply about equity, inclusivity, sustainability, climate justice, and gender justice
You are very familiar with sustainable fashion, you stay up to date on relevant updates, news, and the latest research, and you have a pulse on the conversations that are happening in the space
You have a strong understanding of the major social media platforms and know what works well on which platform
You have significant experience managing social media accounts, whether those were social media accounts for yourself, clients, and/or an organization
You are comfortable thinking outside of the box and enjoy testing and experimenting with new ideas
You have experience with graphic design and know how to create engaging social media graphics
You know how to create short-form videos for social media
You pay attention to details and have an eye for spotting grammar, spelling, and formatting errors
You are communicative, proactive, and have excellent organizational skills

- Asana (project management software)
- Canva (graphic design software)
- Google Docs, Google Sheets, and Google Drive
- Later (social media scheduling tool)
- Slack (communication tool)
- Social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, Twitter, Pinterest, LinkedIn etc.)
